I got that TA gig I'd been hoping for — I'll be assisting my advisor with a computer science course for this awesome program. I expect that it'll be challenging and amazing. I'd better have a look at that syllabus before Monday...

I've also been nominated for two Pegasus awards! This year's final ballot is amazing — as fond as I am of "Dragon for Sale", I'm a bit embarrassed to see it up there next to "Fire in the Sky" and "Ship of Stone".

There's amazing music, and amazing musicians, and dear friends, in every category. [livejournal.com profile] batyatoon! [livejournal.com profile] sassafrassmusic! Anyway, if you consider yourself part of the filk community, head on over to the Pegasus website and vote for the songs , songwriters, and performers you believe are the best in their categories.

Congratulations!

Are these new categories? Seems odd for two decades (or more?) of songs to be represented.

The "best classic" category was added relatively recently and is for songs at least 10 years old, which "Dragon for Sale" (written my first semester at Swat) now is, although, as honored as I am, I think it's more appropriate that the award in that category go to the real "classics" of the community. I know which one I'm voting for, and it's not "Dragon"... The subject categories are always different every year.
